Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

A freeze on ASM promotions currently?

I heard there was also a freeze on ASM promotions currently. Anyone else hear this? It would make sense to do that if big changes are coming! Store managers just had to do the calibrations on current ASM to figure out who to cut, so makes me wonder.

Found this as a reply on another thread by @XtNnD7f-6nbl . Is there any truth to this? Can anybody confirm or deny? More info?

In several neighborhood markets, Asms have been eliminated . Asms, support managers, csms and department managers positions were eliminated. Those store have teams and team leaders.

The neighborhood markets are very different than the supercenters. I don't know how that even work in a supercenter

@Xzbe1YE-1aes AMEN - Leadership needs to change at the Home Office - We need Merchants not list checkers.....Empty Endcaps and Empty Sidecounters do not pay associates or satisfy customers - How can you be a "Store of the Community" when ALL displays are mandated by some person that has never worked a day in the store?

No ASM’s prob not getting cut, why would they. They quit, get fired, or just don’t show up. It’s a toxic environment I don’t know any manager that loves their job, not one and I know dozens of them. CO managers getting fired and quitting as well, it isn’t local or unique to your store its every store. It will be interesting to see what our management teams look like 2-3 years from now. Leadership needs to change at HO if we ever want to get our WalMart back.

Regional selection just opened up again.. so I don't see how a reduction is imminent

Assistant manager hiring is just like cashier hiring. It never ends. The "big" ASM cut is not a cut but culling of dead weight. Assistants will still be involved scheduling and other personnel matters.

ASM's are not being cut this year. There wouldve been an update to store structure. Theres still regional selection events happening consistently. Try again later in the year or next year.

Personnel is now doing attendance. Store manager does schedules. FT/PT is Personnel. If you don't think that there will be a reduction of ASMs you are kidding yourself.

Someone posted a meeting for asst mgrs Feb 20th. If the meeting is for every mgr on the same date nationwide, then it will be about their job. If the meetings are held on different days, then it will be a regular class .

No ASMs are getting cut.

Calibration is done yearly on ASMs. It’s not a sign of any changes.

No hirining freeze on ASMs, if fact so few internals canadites that markets are holding drives to recruit outside the company.

Weekly rumors posted about ASM restructures..,will they ever end?
