If this wasn’t so tragic I would find it funny. A lot of companies lay off their longtime employees, but I haven’t seen any that have the nerve to advertise that they are some sort of pioneers or leaders in hiring at the same time.

Yeah, I'm one of the Department Managers let go a year ago after they demoted everyone and then terminated us nationwide. I did try to get a job with Lowes in the last year and coulddn't even get an interview. The email back would say they went with someone with more experience. hahahahaha, I have a college degree and 15-20 yrs experience in retail. Yes, that is my bad. Wasted time, but I'm old now and retail is easy for me. Now, after a year of NO's from Lowes, I get an email to come to the National Hiring Day!!! F-U Lowes. I finally went on to do some schooling and will come out with a class A CDL and a job waiting for wayyyyy more money. Lowes, you make the wrong moves over and over again. My retail life is finally over. Thank you Lord..........
Some of them might have great attitudes coming in but after working for this "good" company they will realize what a sh*tshow it is and either fall in line with the other "just do enough to get by and collect a paycheck" crowd or leave and go work somewhere else in a more positive environment. I've seen it a hundred times over, new associates, ft or pt come in, great attitudes, very positive and then then the reality of what its like to work at Lowe's s---s all of that from them and they leave or become a "complainer" about everything. It really is a toxic environment, even for retail here.
Maybe the new employees will have a good positive attitude vs the entitled whiners on here ! Maybe that’s the plan ??
Maybe the unions will use this opportunity to infiltrate and cause ole Marv some new unexpected headaches!
We’ll be getting all the emo and goth kids that the fast food places passed on.
They will constantly be on their phone, in the break room, or calling off.
This company has totally nose dived since Marvin took over. not a nice company to work for.
anyone not directly involved with sales better be looking around cause days are numbered & your severance packages will have strings attached!
