Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

This is only the beginning!

Regardless of what happens this week or next, this only the beginning. Rumors are that a team is being put into place to identify jobs/work across all functions (Marketing, HR, FInance, etc) that can either be outsourced or consolidated. Either more jobs will be lost to outsourcing or people will be asked to do the work previously performed by 2 or 3 people.

I feel sorry for the new and recent hires who have a dream of a long-term career at PepsiCo. Only a very small % will ever realize this dream because they will either choose to leave the toxic environment or they will eventually be told to leave. This is not the way to build a pipeline of future Leaders of this company.

PepsiCo has entered sweatshop mode, failure to innovate, declining markets, a stagnant Byzantine bureaucracy, a disparaged, demoralized ,depressed work force that doesn’t care, the world is changing and junkfood’s place in it is being seriously challenged

Total toxic corporate environment. The top brass look at every office and capital expense as essentially an expense.

People that are close to me have a strong feeling that the only way to not get chopped off in this environment is field sales. Essentially, every hq job is going to get eliminated over the next ten years.

Companies are growing and expanding all over the world, Pepsico is not. If you want an office environment you should probably get out of this industry.

If you want to have a great career at Pepsi you will need to be a critical thinker who can create.

Long gone are the days where you can show up, exist, “do your job” and go home. If you can’t continually adapt, and change your approach, you should probably leave or not come to Pepsico. At this point it’s a shark tank that under pays entrepreneurial spirit.

The survivors are brain washed, highly effective leaders who seem to not understand their value on the open market.

So happy I left that place <3

They don't care about a pipeline for the future. They have the college hire program.

Longtime employees are looked down upon, especially if they don't click any diversity boxes.
