It's fairly obvious at this point GM is doing a couple things....mostly firing those with experience and higher salaries and posting the same job on their career website hoping to hire an NCG replacement. Also, they've let go many NCG's but not at Warren, mostly in Austin and Chandler. So that strategy is mostly to cut the fat in IT regardless of age and also ax senior employees and replace them with NCG's at WTC. You can literally watch the new job postings for WTC and M---ord go up by the day on the career website.

I moved across the country as well, sacrificed my prior 401K match in the process. Now they lay me off before this one vests. Make up your effing mind, GM. This is competent? A least they didn't dig a bigger Design hole before filling it back in.
America needs an auto industry. That doesn't mean it has to be GM.

Place your faith in this company and all you will find is disappointment. Take the word of the wise, or the lesson of life as a guide. Inform all that do not know. Do not support this company. Kill it one advocate against, for life.

Yes of course, they could hire experience to do the job of three? But why pay that price when you can pay less, for a new hire to do the job three times, for half the rate? You pay for it one way or another, but management is incapable of avoiding the immovable object that stands right in front of their face.
This is GM, and they claim to be professional grade. And I'm an attack helicopter.
They cut ncg to get the average age down of those released to prevent law suits for firing the older empliyees. I bet they hire back some of the ncg's.
