Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Days Ahead

So, why did I put in 60 hours this week? Salaried, so no OT. Oh, that's right, loyalty to a company that had no loyalty to me. I guess i'm a glutton for punishment.

  • Rooms are booked at HQ sites.

  • The field (pepsi anyway) will be highly affected.

  • Half the regions, so many will be displaced.

  • IT operations off shored to TATA.

  • ITSM is moving into operations, so will be off shored as well.

  • Toxic environment is an understatement.

And don’t forget along with the new hires (minus pension of course) all the shipping of our jobs off shore all in the name of cutting costs. And of course they makes us have to train these weasels in the jobs they are stealing from us.

There's a new hire orientation happening in Purchase next week.

Great planning by HR, as always. Bring in new people, onboard them, and in the same week announce mass layoffs. Good luck with that retention/new employee morale strategy!

"So, why did I put in 60 hours this week?"

I have been here for 20 years and for the first time I agree with this statement. I have put my heart and soul into this business and have seen so very many talented, dedicated people just shafted. In last years layoffs, I was shocked at some of the talented people they laid off, only to later fill that position with a younger person. Our bonuses were slashed with very little warning last year even in the face of massive tax cuts.

I don't feel inclined to knock myself out for a company who has no loyalty to me.

After firing, they hired younger folks at lower level for the same roles. Disgusting HR practices 👎🏻
