Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Life after the job cuts

So I survived the cuts and on the first meeting with our leader, we were told to put in all we have got so that the cuts we made don't go in vain. I have just about had it with this stupid company. I am taking the first job I am landing. GM leaders are basket cases

I think a lot of folks will consider moving to a new job right after Feb 28 paycheck. Eventually they will not get any severance packages. I survived but now inundated with other ppl's unfinished work. I still haven't decided if i would leave or stay. But I know no matter where i go, at the end of the day, I would be in similar risk as I was here last week - name any other big corporations and they all are same. We are at their mercy. The world is full of fake people - from top to bottom including people like us. It's been only few days most of us have already forgotten about those who left. I have seen some people started celebrating already (for avoiding layoffs). No one cares about no one.

What makes GM think their managers can manage now? They couldn't manage in the good times, good luck in the bad times...

Yep. Same with me here. Had a group meeting and our group is already overloaded with work and on top of the endless work they’re also expecting us to do multiple side projects. Seriously? Don’t get paid enough to do the c-ap the ask for. So unrealistic.
