Since when it an involuntary severance the same as a layoff? When you are laid off, there is no salary continuation for salaried employees. You become friends with Marvin. A layoff implies you could be recalled. I don't see that happening.

In my humble opinion, for transparency and compliance with the WARN rules, the GM management should provide the information about the headcount that was laid off and it's total workforce for each of the AFFECTED location.

“If a series of layoffs over a 30 day period will result in the loss of 500 or more employees, WARN Act Notice must be given. Also, if a series of layoffs of more than 50 or less than 500 employees over a 30 day period will result in a loss of 1/3rd of the workforce, WARN notice must be given.”

Read this. The way I read it, all locations should be under the WARN Act.

I heard since warren had more than 500 layoffs they had WARN. Pontiac on the other hand does not seem to have WARN meaning less than 500 layoffs.

It would truly s--- if it only applies to WTC. There were significant headcount laid off in RenCen and MPG.
