I get the general premise to merge and try to create the same, or better results with a lesser workforce and fewer tiers of management, but what are we talking about in terms of workes that will get RIF’ed? Certainly hope It’s not simple math, cutting regions in half- cutting the workforce in half.

Update your resume & linked in, clean your desk out, and when you get the call to go to the conference room tell tell them to mail your package home & walk out the door.
I entered the workforce right around the recession/recovery time period - 2010. I haven't spent all my years at Pepsi, but of the now 8 or 9 years I have been working, there have been mass layoffs EVERY YEAR at every company I have been at.
I've luckily survived every wave, but feels like it's only a matter of time....
I am part of a group of friends who have worked for Pepsi for many decades, and we have our stuff ready and could happily walk out with everything with 5 minutes notice. I feel sorry for those who work very hard to have a long career as we have had, and get screwed.
You sound like a credible person who knows the details. Could you please share the specific timing of when we will know? The worst part of all of this is not knowing what you’re walking into each day and when you’ll know what your future holds. It would be greatly appreciated.
