Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

IT @ CCA HQ Grand Blanc

IT at CCA headquarters in Grand Blanc was mostly wiped out today. Project managers, architects, business analysts, testers, operations, and programmers. Apparently someone decided IT needs to be in the innovation centers and not located with the business customers they support every day.

I was told the week before I was let go that a manager was already telling her team she intended to offshore work. Allegedly she has some sort of tie in with a colleague that owns the company she is planning to use.

WOW - Only looking at the salary "cost" not the "cost" of lost productivity, but I'm sure they can get the same level of service and support from a call-center in India, right?

Very sorry to hear that. There is a lot of value in having good relationships and easy channels of communication with business partners so that is sad to hear.
