Class Action?

Former manufacturing engineer in warren... I have evidence from a subponea sent to GM showing that GM accessed my personal iphone (wholly purchased & paid for by me, GM had no investment in it) through the wifi and company computer. My attorney has looked up privacy laws and feels there is a case. If anyone else has the similar experience, maybe can make a class action? Since not working there anymore so what can they do, fire us again? lol

Hmmm interesting. In my location we aren't required to login so there's no "official" terms to accept. But I try to be mindful of what I access on the wifi.

What GM-classified information was on your personal phone that brought them to fire you?

How exactly did they access it, what was the evidence that shows this?

Writing something in an agreement does not mean it necessarily will stand up.

GM accessed my personal iphone through the ... company computer.

Uhhh. Dude, you better go read company policies before threatening lawsuits. Why would you plug your personal device into a GM laptop? That's a clear policy violation alone. And I'm sure the wifi Terms of Use also notify you of monitoring.

That is why I never put Intune on my personal phone and did not use the WiFi at work. Please provide more details as I was released too.

After you use your GM phone with your personal accounts GM now owns all your personal data.

Hate to say it but every time you use the GM WIFI accept the terms that say you agree to losing your privacy. I'll bet if you showed those terms to your lawyer he'd say you don't have a case. Have you mentioned those details to him/her?

I never used the GM-provided wifi with my personal cell, always separated work & home. Especially when they started wanted a logon for the wifi. Wondering how this entire issue came up for you, how you found this out, what they might have been looking for ? grabbing contacts ? phone call metadata ? email metadata?

Interesting. I was just thinking about this. How and under what circumstances would this happen?

Don’t you agree to a certain lack of privacy when you log into the GM WiFi?
