After seeing all of this, why would anyone want a higher position and salary? It just makes you a bigger target, especially if you are not connected.
Even if you are in a role that is highly visible and have high exposure to leadership, all it takes is a few wrong moves and bam you are on the chop block!
Lose lose situation here. Def no reward for folks that stand up for a good cause!
