Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Is it possible to tell which positions were hit the most?

It’s hard to tell, I know, but can we determine what positions were hit the hardest with layoffs, at least within certain departments or teams, or maybe none of the positions that were cut dominates over the others?

I am hearing a lot of Level 8 and higher. I'd probably say they are hitting 30% of all folks in those brackets. Hard to say precisely though.

My group was gutted and the survivors dispersed to other groups. My group and my boss no longer exist.

IT seems to be taking a larger hit than other areas. Based on the head count in IT they should have lost around 800 people in this round of cuts all things being equal. Others on here have said that number is already much higher.

I don't know about positions, but from what I'm hearing, management is getting slaughtered. 8th level and up.
