The WARN Act requires an employer to notify the state of a large number of people who will be laid off/let go all at once.

The employer must give a minimum of 60 days notice of when those people will be no longer receive payment.

The layoffs began February 4.

February 4, 2019 plus 60 days is Friday April 5.

It’s just a way of letting the state know how many people are affected at a particular site.

These were filed for several of the manufacturing sites as well.

Am I understanding this correctly.... if you get layed off you recieve pay & benefits until April AND also your severance & teamGM? While the people that are left within the company have increased work load to cover the people that are gone? I was wanting to leave GM back in November of last year because the writing was on the wall of what will happen, but decided to hold out for a little longer to save a little extra $$....at this point I'm wishing there was a way I could have volunteered myself to get layed off so someone else could have been saved.
