Just when are we PC/TC suppose to have time to do the GLM training on this new position when everyday you have Asst. Mgrs., Co-Mgr. and the Store Mgr. wanting you to do something for them along with helping the associates with their problems and doing the rest of the work we have to do everyday that is required? You can't have overtime and you can't come in on your day off. Half the time the GLM units are not working properly. I really don't think this is fair. Why were the training materials not put out for us to do before now? We should have had the training available to us before we even got the Work Bench.

To the PC saying the People Position would be added work more stress, read the people modernization toolkit on the wire, it's for sam's but this is real, similar to what we will be going to. Sam's is a much smaller scale that this why super centers will have people leads as well as team leads. The toolkit mentions the ASM doing orientations, team leads terminations, payrate etc....... most of that work will be done by team leads and ASM. no paperwork involved. Everything will be e-filed. I'm sure it will not be easy but once it is rolled out and if it works my option the MHRM position maybe used for different purposes. If it doesn't work the people lead position will possibly be squashed. My opinion only.

Not much detail info released yet. It will arrive 2nd Q I would guess.

Nothing mentioned about work schedules yet but I would guess some evenings and weekends make sense. It’s not a M-F 7-4 type position any longer as the business has changed dramatically.

It’s will be a D level pay grade, pay will fall within those guide line I would guess. So $15-$24 range.

From what I’m seeing and hearing it’s going to be a postion filled based on ones attitude as much as ones skill set. If someone is not very out going and friendly or just not a “cheerleader” by nature then that new position is going to be though for them to obtain.

If I were interested in the new position I would certainly show that type of attitude daily between now and then...

Nights and Weekends? We were never told this ag our meeting. We were told nothing other than what brief information the video offered. No mention of our jobs being eliminated, no mention of any severance being offered, no idea how long we would have to find another position. NOTHING!!

As a current PC, this sounds like alot more would get put on our plates. Anyone who does not currently have a TC, and will not be getting one, knows how demanding our jobs are being the only one in that office. I cant imagine them taking anything off of our plates, just adding to it! If we are stressed now....I can only imagine what this new role may bring. Any thoughts???

I just post what we were told. We learned this all from our MHRM, not our Store Mgr. Store Mgr. has not said a word to us about this. We were told by our MHRM the Microsoft WORD, POWERPOINT and EXCEL will be on the GLMS and we take them ourselves, self paced learning. The candidate must be proficient in all 3 because the candidate will use all 3 in this new role. The candidate will also be "associate friendly" and a go between..... between associates and management, also to help associates (we do that now). Candidate will also have to attend an Academy to learn about workforce planning tools (I am thinking for hiring and other things)? No mention of any HR experience, education, nothing. Good luck to all.

You have provided me with more information, in a concise and easy to understand manner, than I have gotten from our store manager and our MHRM combined. Thank you for taking the time. As information becomes available, I hope everyone will post updates here. Good luck.

Seems everyone is quite tight lipped about this. We were told it was hourly, anyone internal and external can apply for it, no PC or TC is guaranteed this new position. Candidates should take training when its offered for Microsoft WORD, POWERPOINT and EXCEL and this position would be filled in Quarter 3, sometime in August. A requisition will be opened for it and all interested must apply.

Schedule will be nights, weekends and holidays and it will be a combination of scheduling, attendance, HR and Orientation and Training and workforce planning. No mention of severance packages. Good luck to everyone. Sounds like an exciting position.
