One nasty place now

Good times long gone. My director has spent the last 3 months engineering to push out a long timer. She was average, but ok performer. Pushing her out was just plain nasty and pointless.

Peak time for the long timers to s--- as much $$$ out of the corp before it stumbles and falls into a morass. I give it 2 more years of reaping $$$$ to the execs and snr mngment and then either takeover or near collapse.

The problem is that Qualcomm management (minus mindless spending of licensing fees) doesn't really know what to do to pull out of the nose dive.

They seem to be paralyzed. I guess hearing that they can't even come up with enough money for a 25 year plaque makes me happy I got out voluntarily last year. I was there >20 years and saw the glory days.

It seems this is going to unfold in slow motion with almost no discernable strategy from management. Sad to see.

Idiocracy achieved. I know Two long timers being pushed out this week. Both gave 20+ years and both are out without even a goodbye thank you. What’s funnier is one reached 25 years and was again reminded that years service plaque are no longer given due to cost cuts, thanks for 25 years don’t let door hit you on a@$ on way out.

Yep. The old, incompetent boss needed ppl to kiss up to him, esp. in perf reviews. Just wasn’t up for the all the BS & dishonesty. So glad to be one of the departed.

Nepotism is common. In QCA promotions & bonuses are mostly given to boss' pets/favorites, not based on technical contributions.
