Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Penny pinchers

Well, I got let go on Monday. I was one of the first in my old group to go, seems like a lot who used to work in ops were fired even after the restructuring.

GM is being a b--ch with my pay, because I was promised 6 month raises in the new college hire program. My raise schedule was to be on January 1st. My pay never increased, and my "severance" is paying out at my old pay rate.

Not vesting my 401k either (6 months away) has me really heated and has really swayed my view of the company. Never again GM

Stock price is still going to take some time. Gap up today, and still has potential gaps to fill at $35 and $34. Price is hanging out in overbought territory. Decline is coming.

Do not touch stock of this company or Ford. This is a 2005-2009 replay, watch. Example, how does a company justify giving UAW workers a $10,000 bonus (while already on ridiculous amounts of unwarranted overtime) and thin the ranks of overworked product development?

Yes, the 401K is rightly creating very bad will. And the people screwed would have the lowest match amounts. It was one of my big items in turning down other offers to come to GM.

I think they're working hard to punch through a psychological barrier on the stock price and get some momentum there.

That's right. Fool me once, shame on you. There won't be a second time.

Good on you. Never forget.
