Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

You sort of have to view this layoff as a blessing

Do you really want to stick around and pick up the slack of all the extra work that is suddenly about to appear and not get compensated any differently for it? You don't just eliminate 1/3 of your salaried workforce and everything goes on as normal. This especially true now that we are seeing they are letting go of top performers...

Not only that but in our group they are getting rid of OT pay and increasing 'casual time' hours to two instead of one.

I'm kind of hoping to get laid off at this point. I recently started here and I dont really enjoy my job. My only two friends here got laid off. I want to be done with gm. Seeing the way that gm treats their employees is sickening and it's no longer a company I want to work for. I would quit, but I'm bound by a sign on bonus that I would have to repay
