Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Should have given suppliers a vote

We could have helped you guys weed out the useless ones. We usually end up doing their work for them, so we know exactly who they are.

I agree, but sad to see so many people lose their jobs. I emailed someone today and got an undeliverable message back. Really sad that this person is gone because he was a great resource.

OP here. No hate from me. We lost our GM buyer today and she was one of the best people I worked with at GM. Straight forward, to the point, hated useless meetings, and frequently called BS on id--ts both at GM and my employer. I'm sure she will be back filled by someone quite the opposite and that makes me sad...

I feel like they keep 'drinking buddies' family and friends. Everyone else is out. Performance does not matter

Can definitely feel a certain magnitude of schadenfreude in the post.

Interesting post. The input would be less biased.

Where have you been. It's been the suppliers' turn for decades.

Sad...but true. Can you feel that ripple effect yet?
