If your let go I understand there's a severance. Paid 2 weeks for every year worked. Is that capped at 13 weeks? If so, BS!

Six months isn't to bad, nor great. Back when Dell Inc was young and doing well, their employment contracts didn't have a cap. One old timer was eligible for over a year of severance pay with near full benefits. Someone screwed up and laid him off a few months before his retirement. They tried to hire him back, but he didn't survive that long with the company being foolish.
Holy c-ap people, look at your 2019 benefits guide.
As I understand it, it basically equates to full salary for half the full years you worked up to max of 6 months full pay. Is that right?
So 8 years you get 4 full months pay at 100%. Is that right?
From what I read, the severance package pays your half your monthly salary? For example, you've been with the company 5 years and your salary was 60K, you're going to be paid half of that for 2 and a half months?
Plus you get the whole month of February before severance starts. So that's an extra 4 weeks.
Yea I guess you're right. Could be zero
I was walked out, and I am not complaining one bit about the severance package. Many people get fired and receive nothing. This gives people the opportunity be paid while they look for something else.
You can get up to 6 months severance if you have 12 years. Half a month per year of service. Maximum is 6 months.
