Can you apply at GM again after lay of, is there any clause that prohibits you from applying for certain period.
OK, really, that's very pragmatic. First they eliminate the role you happen to be in. Separately they hire for the new roles. If you would have been and are a good choice for one of those, theoretically they should at least consider you for that with all the other applicants, especially since there is widespread agreement they are laying off good people. No downside, as long as you don't relay on them too much if you get hired.
