If you get laid off before the 401k matching vests, does it just not vest?

Additionally, do you have to pay back moving $$?

If you're not vested that money goes poof! I don't believe you are liable for outstanding relocation monies in a RIF.

Someone who got laid off asked HR and they told him he would “have to talk to Fidelity about that” so it doesn’t look good...

You will get back only what you paid in. If it is less than a certain amount, I believe around $5000, the company can just pay you out.

Sounds like questions that can easily be found in the employee handbook! But yes it doesn’t best and no you don’t have to pay back moving packages.
