Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Is there really a need for more security?

I find that the whole increased security thing is a major overreaction on part of GM. What is it they expect us to do exactly? It just seems like adding insult to injury.

Not an overreaction at all. How many shooting incidents related to issues like this over the years? The thing is I worry less about something right now than someone gearing up at home and coming back at a later date. I cannot speak for other locations but the Warren Tech Center security is as porous as a sieve. Vehicle badge or no badge, employee badge or not someone could easily slip into one of these site via the frequent tailgating I see.

I have yet to see any additional security in Austin south building. Where are they hiding?

I was personally worried about the whole active shooter thing, and frankly glad mine happened @ 7:30 in the morning (if there is an upside to this), so I beat the folks who will be getting in later. This is not going to be pretty, and from the sentiment I gathered, some people are VERY upset about all this. Better to be safe than sorry!

People get emotional. Sometimes angry. Good to have extra security

I mean, you never know. I’d rather be safe than sorry.
