Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

For all you new grads.....

This is your first lesson in the corporate world....how things are done. It's best to stick at a company for 3-5 years then hop to the next company for a pay raise and job security. Staying at one company is working against you in today's world and has been for the past 2 decades. Eventually you're going to get canned so your best bet is to make the money then hop....then repeat every 3-5 years. It will still look somewhat consistent on your resume while you receive the reward (a 20-25% pay hike which you wouldn't have received by staying at one place). Trust no company....no matter how good a relationship you have with your manager. They could care less about you, period.

Yep. Truth right there. Live and learn, or learn through the teaching of others.
