Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

"Life After GM"

Predictably, people here post about how "Great" life will be when they are gone from GM. Funny thing, literally dozens of major corporations have been laying people off for a few years and you'll find the same sentiment on every board of these companies.

Hope springs eternal, but this brand of hope needs a dash of information. If just about every major corporation is laying people off, how can it be "better" anywhere?

I have a new job. I had a few weeks off to detox. I had no idea how ruthless and toxic my previous leader was until I had been away for awhile. I now work for a “best places to work company”. The grass is greener at many non- automotive companies. I know for sure the toxic boss will be kept to bully more employees who will rise up and escape like me. The grass is very green outside the RenCen and Warren and Austin IT. Trust me. You will feel younger and healthier and happier when your gone. You’ll be ok.
