GM repeats it's same mistakes every 10 years, so get used to it. Downsizing, restructuring, layoffs, whatever fancy terms you want to call it, GM lays off then will start hiring again in about 2 years. They will then have mass layoffs in 2028 or so then hire again around 2030. Rinse and repeat. They are incapable of learning.

This feels a wee bit different than the as usual GM cycle. I could be wrong , but I think merger with a big computer company is looming in the background. Just a thought.

The problem is that you can only con a customer once. No repeat business in that.

Yes and no. The 20-30 year veterans of this corporation know this situation.
What does your crystal ball tell you about the coming economic cycle that will remove upwards of 85% of the wealth among most, within the stock market? GM will be a speck among the abyss.
There will come a time to short everything you own not only against GM, but all other blue chips in the DOW. It's so comical, most would thing it's not practical, and illogical. What goes up, must always go up right?
Time will prove one side of history correct. Let's hope you bet right - in the limited time frame in which you have. Only, I hope you don't place your life savings in it.
