Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

Cisco is not a place to be a free-thinker

I was at Cisco for 7+ years and was fired recently after speaking out on some serious unethical actions that took place under my organization. I've learned Cisco is not a place to be a free-thinker, even if your advice is purely constructive criticism. Cisco's current method of suppressing opinion and firing employees without cause will eventually catch up to them. Just give it 10-15 years they will run this company into the ground after they scare away all the technical talent that made the company succeed.

I agree 100%. Originally posted by @XoJBiXe-1xjk

I worked for good managers and directors who take your input and do the right thing. Also came across few non-technical managers who like to play politics and cover up everything. This goes on everywhere, inside Cisco and other companies that I worked for.

If it’s that serious, bring it to light outside of Cisco. Not uncommon to see someone put the information out there and others follow, leading to an issue that has to be addressed. I think it needs to be public for others to see

Absolutely true in the multiple organizations I’ve worked in as well. I’ll be leaving soon for this reason.
