Me and everyone that purchased an overpriced Cadillac and any SUV are stupid. Only people that don't know how to manage money buy BIGGER cars just because gas is cheaper. These past 3 years were the opportunity to save thousands - and many people like me ruined our shot! We believed they had great ideas with moving to New York. Great example of sheep doing what the rest of the sheep do to please managment and fit in. This week I am going to the nearest Cadillac dealer and getting this Escalade off my hands.

"This is why people dont have enough money to cover 2 weeks expenses." The reason why people don't have money is because of inflation. Study monetary history. Inflation never stops, it never ends, you will never just have enough.
In the "Leave it to Beaver" era, a father earned enough to provide for his family. Today, it requires both a mother and father to afford the lifestyle, if barely. It's only through inflation, the wage of a worker never keeps up with the cost of necessities. In time, inflation will exceed both a mother and fathers income. Want to debate this? Recall when a candy bar was 0.25$, that's now priced at $1-$1.5 or more? Did your wage rise the same? Tacos at taco bell, 0.25 cents, now $1.75 cents each. Did your wage increase seven fold? That's all in a span of JUST 20-25 years.
The truth is that inflation stole the lifestyles from many individuals. It tricked an entire nation of women into the workforce, because it became a necessity for a household to afford the same. Granted, there are many brilliant woman that want to work, and should have that choice, but how many MILLION did it steal away motherhood, that simply wanted to be housewives for life, if they could be granted that choice? That word seems so rare these days.
People still have much to learn. Study history, and especially monetary history. Slavery isn't new, nor did it end. It only morphed into financial slavery, which is much more effective. Take this and expand on your young education in life, not the BS they teach you in school.
I agree that just because you got layed off doesnt mean GM didnt value you - they employed you for YEARS and that should mean something! GM definitely beats out the Big 3 in all its lineups. Personally, I, a "millennial" don't buy luxury/ marked-up brands anyways - save money, invest, continue education, etc . This is NOT a GM issue, its an American issue. This is why people dont have enough money to cover 2 weeks expenses.
But it's up to the consumer (however wise they may be) to purchase a truck if they need a truck and a crossover if the need a crossover. Although last i checked, families are having less and less children the richer they are. That doesn't seem to get calculated in the equation though.
Believed "they" had great ideas moving Cadillac to New York? That was the most unintelligent idea that came out of GM in a very long time. I've posted elsewhere that vision works both ways. The vision to see where your going, and the vision to know which immovable objects to avoid. Many choose to only see one side of that statement. New York was that immovable object GM was NOT able to see, but got their a**es handed to them as they came right back.
A financial education is not taught to most people, and they certainly don't want intellectually capable people controlling their finances. They need a mass of individuals to buy overpriced mercantile items.
Interestingly enough, I was part of a meeting where our executive director told us all about the Denali line. I imagine the Cadillac line to be the same. He told us that they put $1500 in gadgets, and mark the name up ten times that amount. I do understand markup, but where does excessive and predatory kick in?
Do yourself a favor next time. Buy a two-three year used vehicle and save yourself the corporate profit. Someone has to be the s---er, but it doesn't have to be you.
A proud GMC owner here. Just because your work contract (FTE is based on contract too) may end soon - stop spreading hate. Also to all people who wow to never buy GM car again because of lay-off- so immature and stupid. Like a 16 year old girl who just got ditched! It’s funny.
