Not all GM vehicles s--- but the vast majority do. The same can be said about their management. If you take a look at the current leadership's track record, you will see the same persons in charge did a number on the last couple of companies they lead. Some refer to this team of pond s---ers as the "Dell Mafia" being that most of them joined forces back when Mott was Dell's CIO. This team was responsible for Dell, AMD, HP's lack of innovation during their stay. Hopefully this bunch will be out on the street and GM will resurface like the other companies of their past. - Painter, Holtzendorph, Justice,

Not sure I'd agree with the "7+ years at GM never did IT development." Many GM IT folks that were on board before the in-sourcing came from other successful companies and IT departments. There were certainly those that trickled over from the business or were more contract managers than IT managers, but it's not accurate to broad-brush the whole gang.
All I know is this , I love the Corvette. I was.contract for along time and unfortunately they cut almost all of us.
Every PM I have dealt with simply spends all day long reaching out to people to get things done, with no technical skills of their own. It's no wonder so many of them seem worried around here.
Generous motors............big escalades as employee perks....what nonsense....bunch of H1b recruits....
enough of artifically induced work shortage to bring more L1 workers from india
Any one with 7+ years at GM never did IT development. Most of them are clueless. PMs became development managers. BAs became architects. What not. They are architects and dev managers by number of years they are at GM than what they are capable of doing. They spend so much on COTS. The licensing costs are close to half a Billion. For the same Siemens License Ford pays 300$ we pay close to 800$. We have only a few thousand licenses more than Ford. Dell gang wants to pass the time with new names. Maxis, GDAAS. Old c-ap is worse than these guys. 95% of development mangers are non technical. They have PMs to assist them in Project management. Not sure why they have so many of both.
Good luck to GM.
