I don't know if this is the official way a store manager deals with the workers, given that I’m relatively new at WM and I only worked at one location, but our store manager is making our life a living hell. He is trying to implement some sort of a dictatorship at the store, micromanaging us to every little detail, in communication, we are treated like dirt, and whoever expresses his opinion is the prime candidate to be let go. Raising his tone at us and even using inappropriate language is something we are facing every day. I thought about taking the issue up with HR but everybody adviced me not to. The fact that I am the newest employee at the store wouldn’t help my case, given that the older workers are not speaking up, even though they are getting the same treatment. Has anybody faced similar issues, and does anyone have any advice?

Call the Ethics hotline and nothing is done. Why is it Ok for a manager to yell, scream and swear at associates? Its not OK but Ethics does nothing and the Market Managers and Regionals won't do anything either. Their response, well you must have done something to provoke them. NOT. They say if you don't like it quit.
Stop Working at Wal-Mart people do not have an option I know but no one need to leave in fear of loosing their jobs. some executive of Walmart say we work for the people and they can always fire the executives. that is not the case any more there are not more check and valances whit in the company they are hiring out side resources like executives from GE and they are coming to walmart with the ideas of everything is a resource that you can use and dispose when you need
The brain dead bean counters, lawyers, and corporate raiders running the company into the ground, don't care. Sam Walton is spinning in his grave.
Our store here in Michigan is exactly like that. You are not the only one. I believe the way the job is set up breeds and cultivates this sort of behavior from a store manager. It’s very disheartening. I do completely understand what you are going through.
Is this store in Ny? I to knew a rouge SM that treats his associates and managers like dirt. Ethics was called and emailed HO a team came to visit and nothing happened. He’s still employed I believe. He a $$ maker so they brushed under carpet. It happens, sad. Entire store hated him and still bring his stories up today. Avoid him.
Welcome to Walmart, this isn't just an issue with one manager, this is how this company is now run. As long as your at Walmart you will be treated like dirt, you won't get raises and you will be expected to work all holidays for normal pay. They will lay people off and then expect you to pick up the slack. Get out while you can. Unemployment is the lowest since 1969, everyone is hiring and you'll never have a better chance to get out, run!!!
Unions are needed nor are would they be better able to stop this than the tools the company always gives associates.
Call the Ethics hotline, the number of posted I’m multiple locations in the store on on the WIRE. That will have results.
Wouldn’t have to worry about that if u just unionized
