Those affected worked in the company’s global product group/engineer departments in Pontiac, Michigan. This is part of the company’s plan to reduce its North American salaried contract and salaried workforce by 15 percent. GM did not specify how many people it laid off in Pontiac.

Nothing has happened since then. We have been told that the test labs will remain staffed and the racing center will probably stay but that everything else is expected to get moved to Warren in 2019.

I doubt they will close it down completely there are other groups still there, DD LLC for example
