Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Find out if you're on the list.

With the cuts beginning Feb. 4 and each Monday thereafter, ask your manager if you can take a vacation day on the 4th, 11th, and 18th. If you "need" to be there, chances are you're on the list. Also, if you come to work and see car services lined up, you can assume people will be going home without GM vehicles that day.

The general Motors proving grounds conference rooms are booked all day Feb. 4th and 5th. for this week. Taxi Cabs lined up outside the main gate all day. So two days of walkouts this week and most likely same two days next week.

I asked my manager. They have no idea who else they're about to lose. This has been a giant surprize.

""They should make them walk home.. better for free cash flow."" What a cold hearted A-hole.

Your boss can deny a vacation request. If you don't know that, you should be terminated, not just laid off.

I see some strange critical replies. Why? It's TRUE. You must be drinking or on d--gs. You're probably on the list.

This suggestion is juvenile. The O.P. should be laid off.
