Part one hour cuts

Has anyone else been getting little to no hours recently? My store just got a huge post-holiday budget cut especially since the minimum wage went up and I haven’t had hours since after Christmas. Now normally I’d just quit immediately but in my case it isn’t the end of the world since I’m a full time student and I’ve been getting a heavy workload recently, and I’m trying to avoid leaving a job where I like the people I work with. I’m not the only one in my store dealing with this. Anyone else in other stores dealing with this, or know when we can expect increased hours?

Trade you in a heartbeat OP- been working 65 hours plus since November 15th. Excluding Xmas day I’ve had one day off, with the insane amount of stock we get they have to keep working us to keep clearing the dock.

Not sure if it’s all the points they gave away in December or what but we haven’t been this busy in years.

Remember the stores and the company are running on DIP financing and that is limited. Legal fees and administrative expenses related to BK are the priority and not the stores. Once again the stores get screwed with lack of funding and not being the priority. Hours and staffing get cut and tasks expanded. Get used to it. Eddie said he is going to run the go forward stores lean from now on.

I've been getting 6 hours/week. It would be a waste of time if I had to commute, but I only work nights/close and the store is on my way home from my day job.

It got close to this bad last year, but not quite this low. There will be a small bump around Valentine’s Day, but hours will not come back in earnest until March. With the min. wage increase you’ve had, don’t count on getting tons of hours again outside of the holidays ever again. It’s all based on projected sales and what tasks need to be done. (Signing, stocking new stuff, RAD/RAN severity based on projected foot traffic, etc.)

This happens every year for the first 3 months of the new year. Hours are cut drastically to make up what was used in the 4th quarter. Hours increase by the end of March/early Aprll. But don't expect alot of hours....especially if more associates are hired.......departments are given so many hours to work with and they will schedule full-timers first.....whatever is left is divided among the part-timers.
