Thread regarding Walmart layoffs

It Has Started

Depending on your SC size, we are going from 4 ASMs to 7 ASMs. 3 Co’s one of which will be on 3rds. Creating more support manager positions to make up for the loss which also depends on your size. 4/8/13 are back together, Frozen and Dairy are back together, housewares, furniture and domestics, seasonal is going with candy and impulse, Toys is going with hardware. Cap 2 is being increased, 3rd shift is being downsized. Cartpushers will fade out. Testing out the coin release bays like Aldis has also, getting a GPS cart mule that can be controlled by the stores ipad.

Palletized trucks? Is this why they are rolling out $250,000 fast unloaders to stores?

Saw the info on the end of the year meeting. Stores with $60 million or less, uninterrupted. Less than that, 7 to 4 ASMs, no co on thirds, two additional support that will perform ASM duties including LP. Core hours will come into play week 6, merging the departments. CAP 1 will run with 4 associates and CAP 2 will lose staff to ten. Unverified but reported info from the Temple DC is that each trailer will now come palletized by department, eliminating the need for CAP 2 unloading. They will pull pallets out of the truck and commence stocking. Again, the DC have been going through training and staffing to start off the new system. It’s gonna be great but staffing will definitely shrink.

Of course there has been CO's on 3rd before I know that....but they are not going to go back to that. There is really no reason to have them on 3rd anyway

I’m pretty sure this post was a joke. Chill out. Nobody knows anything yet except what we have heard from “rumors.” Everything is just speculation. Also, even thought it’s not going to happen you act like there haven’t been co’s on thirds before.

My store currently has 13 assistants. We have 3 on thirds, 1 over fresh, 1 over consumables, 1 over grocery, 1 over front end, 1 in homelines, 1 in hardlines, 1 over softlines alone, 1 over Cap 2 and then the ACC and APASM. Plus 2 co-managers and 3 support managers and we have a training manager coming next week who will actually be transferred to another store but will be training at our store after he gets out of the academy.

Asm here the budgets have been released and the asm salary has not been reduced. So there are no changes with asms.
