Probably going to see the real lay offs after the 4th quarter earnings report. Might see the bean counters start looking to jettison the senior employees.
More layoffs to come in the states. Just like last time!
This is a drop in the bucket compared to the # of employees that need to go in ex-Alstom. EU wont let the company lay them off. And when it does go through, employees will get 2-3 years of severence pay. GE bought a shell of a company and now its dragging us down. The price of doing business in Europe.
This is GE's version of reparations....
One time payment vs. annual salary&benefit.
Grade school math is important.
($60 million fine from French government) minus (salary & benefits of 468 employees) = 0 . GE math
So tell the whole story other than your headline, these are none usa jobs!
