Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

Work Slowdown

Until layoffs begin, I don't know how GM can stop the rumors. GMIT Austin is a large rumor mill in N/S buildings. Many people are distracted. Colleagues show up late or leave early or both. I don't think much work gets done. And so it is. Work will continue to slow down. Not a good environment to be in. Thanks Randy Mott.

Agreed. Moral is at an all-time low in AUSTX. The most frustrating part may be how GM is continuing to keep us in the dark. The dates keep moving (according to what mgrs let slip.) Either they cannot align their ducks or the they don't know how to respectfully handle a layoff. However, we are supposed to be professional and respectful in our day-to-day actions. And the CxO's that were responsible for the over-hiring aren't even on the chopping block - Free pass to Ahmed & Randy!!

I guess it'll be over next week - and whether that is good or bad, it will still be over.

I agree with you about the productivity drop. I've noticed the same in Roswell.
