Hinkle hump is shutting down sometime in february. Some flat switching to continue at hinkle but most work diverted to portland and the flat-switching pocatello yard. Vena to visit and discuss the change. Sad to see a huge yard with expansion potential starved of business and idled!

I’m looking out my internal office window down into the headquarter lobby watching people walk out

If there’s no severance, then why sign the papers? People will wreak havoc and those left behind will see all kinds of messages in the snow!

Nobody cares if you’re close to the work those were our instructions earlier but now that they brought someone in to just cut

nobody cares who you are and what you’re close to everyone is expendable.

We can’t be any thinner in the South West but no one cares.

My friend in Pocatello is telling me they are cutting in the yard right now.

It’s all b---s---. Consolidation of positions? Possible. Cutting unneeded positions? Yes. Closing redundant yards as in east west humps in NP? Hinkle hump closing? . Just remember that they can all be reopened just like the CSXT did. Get close to the work. Ask yourself what you did today to move cars. (Cars not trains) don’t have power wallowing around for days. Move cars to destination. This post is mostly aimed at non-agreement folks.

There will be a lot of company in North Platte, the cuts that are already planned will be a major disruption in service. They will do what they want and work around what is ahead to make it work. Navy says it best, lets fix it till it breaks!

Watch for the leadership to go on vacation today and tomorrow so they are not around for the firings.

More confirmation this morning in Omaha of cuts, they don’t come in this early for nothing.

I agree with the superintendent and director comment, if they suddenly vanished then nothing would change.

I just have a question. How does a director or a Superintendant add value to moving freight?
