Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

LP Rehire

Just curious how many of the LP personnel that were laid off received another job with Lowes, since Marv claimed 70 to 80 percent would be rehired.

Appears the truth is closer to "70-80% will NOT be rehired."

Just heard our soon to be ex LP talking about this today. Two LP promoted to Senior AP Managers. One got store APSM at a risk 5 store. Two went store side. One as a CSA4 and one as a Department Supervisor. 4 have zero offers to remain with their stores and one has left the company already.

So that’s 3 out of 10 that have been hired. You can’t count the Senior AP Manager positions because them were pre-selected and no interviews done for them. Last time I looked, 30% was not even close to 70-80% like ol’ Marvin claims. Sad thing? Our LP was just as tore up about co-workers not being kept somewhere as losing the job too. Spend all that time and money building teams and then just kick them to the curb without any chance whatsoever to interview fairly. One LP was actually turned down for a position for not having CC application numbers! WTH? I feel for those people. Ones I knew worked hard and tried at least.

One in my store got offered a CSA 4 position after being passed over by the HRM/ASA for one DS position and the other (lumber/pro) was filled by someone who has never worked in that Dept. This should be fun to watch because both were put in departments they have NEVER worked in. But SM and MD got who they wanted. God Bless!

One LPM in my market is staying with Lowe's after not getting the new position.

In both markets combined in my area, only 3 are staying with Lowe's (not including new AP positions).

So 9 out of 22 stores.

Approx 1300 LP's were affected. By Marvin's math, over 1000 will be staying with Lowe's. I call BS.

Not really a pay cut depending on if they were a 40 hr or a 48 hr LPSM. Either way, it’s SSM pay scale for DS so they will probably make 40-45k

So it seems that for those that wish to remain they face moving or pay cuts.

Two stayed in their level 5 stores. Two got Sr. Offers. And three got placed in department supervisor roles. Only one guy didn’t get an offer at Lowe’s yet.

Marvin and his stock market pleasers are looking at all positions and deciding which, they believe, we can do without. Of course the higher the pay, the more “unnecessary “ they see the position.

Of the 3 stores in my area, one LP got Plumb/Electrical and the other to have gotten nothing. My understanding is they’ve interviewed but not been chosen.

Of the four stores in my area, one LPM was promoted into a newly created position, another left the company altogether, one moved to the Washington DC area, while the one at my store moved back to where he came from. Not sure if he still works for Lowes or not. He was there one day and gone the next.
