Laid off after 19 years. Seems to me the people let go were some of people who had been there a long time and had higher (but still lower than industry standard) salaries. I'm leaving with a unique set of knowledge and skills, specific to the legacy/merger aspects of the network, that are not going to be extremely difficult to replace if at all. Loyalty and hard work do not pay off when the company survives by playing the numbers. You have to take care of your people too or you are doomed to fail, no matter what the books look like.

And those who remain now all have more work. I feel sorry for the managers because I for one will not be working harder, probably going to pace myself more. A lot more things are going to fall on the floor because we can't do it all. There are no incentives to pick up the slack.
I think this will just continue to push the remaining producers out the door. Why would they want to stay?
