Left SF when CDE began

I found this site and was catching up. I think I left right at about the top. I was forced into a IT program called CDE being told it was 10 times bigger than the ECS Enterprise Claim System. I noticed when that started the old SF was gone. tables vs cubes and multiple fasted paced projects which were forced. Oh that was terrible. Like most everyone I came up with a plan and moved out of state. Good luck to everyone still there and living in the area. Don't be afraid to start out somewhere else it was a good move getting away from the toxicity.

CDE was the beginning of the end of systems.

I have never before witnessed executive ineptitude on such a grand level. In essence, they took a systems department that worked pretty well (but with some systemic problems that needed to be addressed) and razed it to the ground so that it did not function at all.

Now they are correcting their mistakes. But why are the executives responsible for CDE allowed to remain while all the employees in positions THEY ruined were forced out?

Systems doesn't operate like a professional environment anymore. Now it's like Lord of the Flies. I haven't seen a business requirement of any kind in about 3 years. Yep, you heard right. We build and deploy entire systems without ever seeing a single business requirement. And somebody up top thinks this is a good idea.

No wonder so many of our projects never make it out the door, or are met with disdain when they do.

The business users take one look at the c-ap we're building and ask WTH we're smoking. Take a good look at ECRM, the multi-billion dollar boondoggle.
