I admit I’m getting a bit anxious after I heard about the layoffs, so I would like that this happens as soon as possible. Much better than living i fear. When do you think the big wave will hit?

If GE's would spend money on a dead Swiss company then surely GE would spend money on a dead NY site. That's why.
Fat chance of the gas turbine business returning to Schenectady. By 2030 there will be few places where gas turbines are allowed to remain connected to the power grid. With the market for new turbines and turbine services virtually eliminated, why would GE spend money to move a dead business back to NY?
Most of gas turbine will be moved back to Schenectady ny over the next 10 years. Cash flow will come back and ge will want to consolidate most of power within the large ge Schenectady site to better streamline its production flow along with a more skilled workforce. I feel bad for Greenville and other sites that could be affected, but it only makes sense at this point. Ge will eventually learn its mistakes going back 30-40 years of out sourcing Schenectady.
@2xni 80% is the dumbest thing I’ve read here in a while.
They've already been able to project first quarter results. No surprises. 80% layoffs because of it.
Is Windsor, CT getting flushed finally? Has anyone heard?
Next moth, after the first quarter.
A senior manager told us they started last week. I'm surprised you didn't know.
Do not dare to hope. There is only pain.
There isn’t a “wave”...but jobs will be eliminated in the reorg. It’s been going on steadily for months...where the hell have you been?
