Thread regarding General Electric Co. layoffs

Let GE know

Don’t you get tired of layoff after layoff. You can’t cut your way to prosperity. Where is the pipeline of products that will be the future? Edison is rolling in his grave watching this mess. Wouldn’t it make sense to all walk off the job until Culp says no layoffs we are all in this together? We sacrifice our own to try to make numbers but no new business plans? This is sad. Let’s stand together!

Nobody is forcing you to work for GE. If your convinced that your “skills” are that marketable, go elsewhere. Otherwise, quit your whining and go back to work.

Edison is not turning over in his grave as he was a Thief too. The beat ideas he passed off as his own were from Tesla and other inventors.

Here are some products many assume Edison invented but in reality they were others inventions.

-Lightbulb

-Electric Chair

-Power Generator

-X-Ray Photographs

-Storage Battery

-Record Player

-Wax Paper

-Telegraph

-Duplex and Multiplex Telegraphy Machines

-Moving Pictures / Video

-Television

Edison ended up buying a lot of others patents and then claiming the inventions for himself.

The real inventors like Nikola Tesla ended up pennyless with their private records under the control of the government for decades while tycoons, bankers, and governments benefited.

Over the last 20 years most parts of GE have not really that great at creating new products that never existed before.

What they have done well is found how to develop newer more efficient versions of the older products and squzzing the cost out of some of the products lines or dreaming about a magically becoming a Top 10 software firm while 2 Jet Jeff flew around the world over paying for acquisitions and getting less than market rates for dispositions.
