Thread regarding Windstream Corp. layoffs

Outages related to Bankruptcy

Has anyone noticed as our financials struggled the number outages increased?

Why do we have so many outages? Someone should be laid off for the # of outages we have. I remember they had a report of course it was manipulated and corrupt showing how the reduced the number of outages including mop interruptions however it was all a lie. While they read the complete fabrication customers were disconnecting as fast as possible.

It’s incredible how many outages a single provider can have.

We all know he won’t go... wants the OT.

Also it was a simpleton response. We are bankrupt and don’t and haven’t had the money for fixing anything. We have and continue to just put bandaids on everything.

Resons for network outages;

  1. Alot of talent walked out, they were not showed out but left to better gigs over the past 3 years.

  2. The management in operations are pretty terrible but a few recent layoffs and firings and made that a little better but too little too late.

  3. The network is a pi$$ poor patch work of various corpses of the various belly up CLEC companies.

  4. Engineering is so fragmented and disoriented they won't take accountably for various issues and don't have the money even if they had the gumption.

  5. Enterprise. BU sheilds customers from being sold new or current generation services because a T1 pri makes more MRC, even if the customer leaves us for another provider.

  6. Middle management is incentified by the amount of cost they cut. So they cut costs to a harmful amount that hurts business and is counter intuitive. However their bonus is that much more substantial.

  7. Management in general is a great showing of the Peter principal in action.

  8. The fiber network is built logically redundant but not physically as in the circuits that make up a ring ride the same physical fiber that gets cut.

  9. The equipment is old absolute trash.

  10. In the effort to automate alarms and such they basically created the digital version of the boy who cried wolf. However that didn't stop them from declaring it a success and cutting heads becuase automation justified it.

My advice: find another job quick.
