Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

There isn’t a company with less job security?

Seriously, is there? And I’m not saying that based from what i read on this board and what I see at the company. The fact that every year there are shifts and that older employees are not wanted has become an all-known fact. No people in my surrounding consider Pepsi as an option in which they can pursue a career. It’s no different in the workplace, much of my colleagues are aware of that fact and many walk away as soon as another job option comes by ( not even necessarily a better option). Think that they are just destroying the credibility of a once great company with no benefit at all.

There are lots and LOTS of companies with less job security... Including more “prestigious” firms like GS, McKinsey, etc.

Consider ourselves lucky that PEP offers a generous severance when laying people off. A lot of places don’t offer much if anything at all tbh. Not much of a silver lining, but that’s my personal experience.
