Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

An Example of a Growing Company

Aldi.

Unfortunately they're not American, they're from Germany. In 2016 they had about 25,000 employees and about 1,600 stores. In 2016 they announced a capital growth program and funded it. This included remodeling about 1,400 stores (making them larger), and building an additional 900 stores (total 2,500), by they end of 2022. It also funded an additional 25,000 employees, doubling their workforce.

For most American companies this is happy, happy horse manure. They make grand announcements like this but the investors get tired of it in about six months and the project gets cancelled. Then we get another round of bs, essentially saying: "In order to grow we need to shrink. Watch for layoffs and outsourcing, s---ers!".

So what about Aldi? It was a little over two years ago that they made this announcement. They've remodeled about two-thirds of the 1,400 stores and they've built about 250 new stores since then. They aren't saying: "Growth comes from shrinking".

Oh, by the way, they're probably the only company, that I know of (in this day and age), that gives their employees a pension and a 401K savings plan.

Why is it "unfortunately " that Aldi is not an American company.

By the way : this is the internet with a website contributing all over the world.

Can you still call Pepsico an American company ? Most of the employees are on the payroll of IBM and others and live in India and Poland.Shareholders are also living all over the globe.
