Thread regarding General Motors layoffs

It's on me?

All the GM folks are familiar with the GM values preached on a daily basis. Among them are Be Bold. Think Customer. One Team. And my favorite, "IT'S ON ME".

This mess that GM finds itself in with having to layoff thousands of people. Who's standing up saying "IT'S ON ME"?

Mary? Where are you? Reuss? You responsible? Last time GM was in this much trouble, Waggoner was forced out. Who's this on?

I personally like the "Win customers for life" quote. Not in their wildest dreams.

Alienate customers for life, one mishap after another is more like it. Wonder how many customers they lost with this recent layoff.

They will find the triple zero approach to result in zero achievement as well. Time will prove that one right. When GM screws up, they make sure to do it up in a monumental way.

I've never seen a manager take responsibility for anything. Blame always rolls downhill.

"It's on me" is a joke.

Those "GM values" were just an attempt to brainwash employees into being more loyal and compliant.

I didn't notice any changes in my management chain after the training.

They were still bureaucratic, indecisive, averse to change, and consumed with favoritism.

If you tried to "be bold" they'd smack you down, just like always.
