Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

Complete loss of respect for the company!!

I have lost all respect for Pepsico the last couple of weeks. Last year we promoted some very capable employees from other divisions to move over to Pepsi to fix the problems there, especially fleet and engineering teams. All of those people were all let go this week with the layoffs. This company no longer values its employees in any way shape or form, why would anyone take a promotion in this company any more? Its just one step closer to being shown the door quicker. We are losing our quality employees, replacing them with younger less qualified people and to be honest the hiring standards have been lowered to almost non existent, put a warm body in the position and get product to the store no matter what the cost. I remember the good days when you could only get in here if someone died, khakis and collared shirts were required but now its dress down Friday every day out in the field!! it's a damn shame!!

I think writing a review of PepsiCo on Glassdoor.com explaining explaining how you lost respect of the company would be helpful to anyone who is researching PepsiCo as a prospective employer.

Here we go again. Sad to see Pepsi layoffs again. I was laid off at Pepsi. I was in my sixties but I wanted to continue my career. Despite a robust job market and plenty of opportunities that matched my skill set, was unable to land a job. Not exactly sure why but I suspect its age. Ageism is more pervasive in the market place than I thought - its easily disguised, difficult to prove. When you are in your sixties and looking for a job its NOT a level playing field anymore. Pepsi and other companies that lay off 'older' employees are effectively ending peoples professional careers.

Is that Amazon ad a joke. Indra just became a board member.

Absolutely correct. I was there 35 years. Spoke up and was out. HR is nothing more than senior leaders hired mercenaries.

Pepsico is indeed truly a company where management doesn't like to be intellectualy challenged. The big contradiction is that they are able to sell it that they are a company where speak up and input from employees is valued. And new generations buy it better then associates with experience in the company.

This will be their ultimate demise. They hate people who are competent and experienced who can think for themselves and intellectualy challenge their managers. The only way the leaders can survive is making site their direct reports are either inept are totally incapable of speaking the truth. It's way past shameful.
