Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Gum ball rally.

You may not remember the movie but it has a scene in the cross country car race where the driver rips off the rear view mirror and throws into the road behind the convertible. Then he says “who gives a sh-- who is behind us?”

That was me today.

Adios you slack jawed mo--n Marvin.

Btw, I’m about to bury your pro department with my new toolbox full of tools, supplies, and delivery trucks.

You have ruined Lowes for lots of dedicated employees. I’m about to join the group ruining it for you.

Your just a number to them, I hope more people that still work for LOWES finally realize this. I gave 12+ years to them.. and got nothing but a “your replaceable “ and a kick in the a--.

I look forward to the day when I can do the same. Many of us are fed up with hearing “we’re working on it” when we have to deal with lazy associates that call off constantly and/or don’t work and cause problems when they do show up.

Spot on. We lost sales all the time because we couldn’t answer our phone because we were running the till.

Add to that our feeble credit accounts and the stupid QSP and we realized selling anything was an afterthought for Lowes.

Good for you man. Let me know who that is so I can sign up too. And BTW, I work in Pro and yes, Marv is FOS when he says hes pushing Pro sales.

For years now, we 3 specialists have run register and lumber 100%. Also covering millwork, tols, plumbing. We NEVER work Pro. Im in this am at 6 and here is my day:

No cashier wqill be scheduled in Pro.

1, Power equip - I have to take all P.E. outside by myself.

  1. Power Hour - asm assigns an aisle, I zone it (usually only one doing it)

  2. Register and lumber. I will prob be on reg all day like last Saturday til 1, then answer saw button til

  3. Loading customers:" even though we are told we are needed for pro business on weekends (ive never helped a single pro guy ever on a weekend) only specialists work weekends. No pro cashier, no pro loader, no pro supervisor. So ...... ? Are we really needed ... ?

  4. While doing the above, we are constantly paged by store manager and other managers for other things. I usually have 5 managers giving me a task simultaneously. Then hauled into the office asking why this or that wasnt done.

  5. No vendors or contractors are open on weekends! We cannot make calls so from 10-2 we also have to walk store, hand out CC apps, and help customers.

This is a typical Saturday AND Sunday - WE START EACH WEEK MINUS 2 FULL DAYS AWAY FROM PRO! Then on weekdays, its much of the same. We unload 4 trucks and put away all bunks in top stock lumber. I would be generous when I say we work at most, 10% a week at the Pro desk!

Good job Marv - you really have done NOTHING operationally to better contractor business at the store level. We have no regulars because for years now, they couldnt get any service, anyone on phone when they called, etc. They have all left. Now you hire dipshit supervisors who go to H.D. asking why they left? Are you serious?

Come talk to me - if you can find me - and Ill lay it all out simply for you. You big dummy.

Off to shower for 6 am start where I will be a $22 per hour cashier today and tmrw. Oh yea, all store meeting tomorrow so another waste of time where we will be given MUSHROOM SYNDROME - left in the dark and fed sh*t!

Thnk you Marv. BTW, thanks for canceling your trip to our store. You show you really care.
