Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

IT Layoffs & Restructuring

IT layoffs are very much impacted, they were last year as well. IT goes through many many restructurings, and often as people leave of their own accord, they do not backfill with FTEs. NYC, Chicago, Plano.

It was never really a sought-after place for IT talent though, we barely get any campus hires, it's been quite stagnant for a while and the technology is antiquated. The company doesn't value it, offshoring was inevitable and has been a 5+ year journey since the bottlers were acquired.

Not my post, saw it at @XItRnca-ubz and I thought it'd be good to have a separate thread on this.

IT is not valued at PepsiCo. If it were valued then why is it a function that reports under Finance (a move Indra made)?

I was laid off Tuesday as was most of my team. Appears just management was spared perhaps to manage offshore/contractors. We left behind much work. Both current and future requirements. Hopefully a knowledge exchange took place or certain aspects of IT will take months for critical production requirements get back on track.

Saw this coming a couple years ago with JD's coming on board and prepared accordingly. PEP was very fair with my package. No complaints.

Best of luck to those who remain.
