Just curious, because someone was fired in my area for performance reasons and I can't remember the last time that happened. People can joke about dead-weight slackers, but it appears to me that there has been a fundamental mind shift and people are actually being held accountable for their actions. Now if only that extended upwards...

Just Curious, I came back and worked for SF temporarily in 2017 after Hurricane Harvey and Irma. It was under a program called The Retiree Assist Program. Retirees were brought to Winter Haven and Jacksonville and utilized for approximately 2 months in 2017. In the summer of 2018, letters were mailed out again asking for volunteers and I responded again, but have not received any feed back since.
I am curious if anyone else was contacted or utilized after the 2018 mail out requesting volunteers?
Especially those approaching age 50.
Yes. They give you an impossible work load then terminate you for poor performance. This has happened to good, long-term employees who’ve dedicated their lives to SF. And people are being written up for asinine reasons. They’ve created a culture of fear and absolute despair. It’s impossible to succeed or provide any level of quality service in that environment. My advice is to leave before you get the can! It’s not going to get better.
Is this trend uniformly distributed between the hubs and operations centers?
If you don’t play the metrics game your out. That is the number 1 priority here. It used to be customer service.
I don’t myself, but I do know many in my hub location who work in AILR & Express. I hear periodically about this happening to them. Of course they took the points system away from everyone except those 2 areas. Someone in Express told me they’ve lost so many people and can’t get anyone to fill positions that they’re pushing to get as many people to PA3 from PA2 pay grade in a scramble to prevent a disaster level loss of employees. Well, I don’t think it’ll work. I even have plans of leaving in a few months 🤣
Tippy doesn’t care about loyalty.....all he cares about State Farm lasting for 500 years
Happens all the time. Most of it is purposeful in that metrics are setting you up to fail to matter how good a job you do. Either that or they target you to make you look bad. Never have I seen so many people just outright quit with no notice either. The work environment is a prison. Thanks, Tippy! And all the bottom feeders who think the dead weight is leaving, maybe you’ll get rewarded for your loyalty.
