So they do get a severance. I’m sure they’d rather have their JOB! Forcing people to move to another country in order to remain employed is disgusting and amoral. Just imagine if your kids are in school or you have ageing parents or a sick spouse or family you’re close to. And God forbid you make the move just to end up being axed anyway. You’d have to leave Ireland immediately. It’s horrible!

The comment that people who decline will not receive severance packages is totally false. Anyone who decides not to make the move will be provided with severance package. Obviously still not great for the people, but if you are going to comment in detail at least try and get the facts rights

GBG = Global Beverage Group. It’s the international version of NAB (North America Beverage).

Yes, affected team members were notified last night. The relo affects 60 roles. Those affected were told that they have to either make the move to Ireland or forfeit their roles. Obviously, most people won’t make the move. Instead, they will be forced to quit which means PepsiCo won’t have to pay severances, saving millions. Those that do make the move will be paid less because the cost of living is lower in Ireland. Again, more savings for PepsiCo. Lastly, Ireland is basically a tax haven for GBG which means, you guessed it, more savings for PepsiCo.
